what do people think of this behavior? i have recently been told that another group is selling miss be patient. while its a compliment and testiment to our work we try to stay away from from this behavior but it seems that it is unavoidable as we cannot control others peoples actions. if you know someone has put their own time money and sweat into a project. would it bother you that someone else is selling their work?? would it matter who did the work? we are not volume sellers we only do a few special projects and hope to provide some good projects for individuals and not wholesale for volume sellers that capitalize and any rip they can get. would people rather buy random rips? or support projects put together with higher standards?
Of course from the p.o.v. of the project makers that behavior is totally unacceptable. But from the consumer's p.o.v. it's a different story...
I think it depends on the fans sensibility to the projects and the kung-fu scene in general. Having respect for a group or company comes from trust and fidelity to that group/company. A mutual respect needs to be created to achieve that stage I think! If a group is releasing **** projects and doesn't give a f**k about their fans then of course some people are going to upload the films or even sell them back.
Now, I think that most of the reselling issue might come from other groups or sellers that actually just want to make $$$ and don't really care about anything else. Like they they say, there is no honor among thieves.
I personally respect another group doing a project and I don't really see the point of selling off their hard work only to go and make 5$ of profit, it's ridiculous and its a serious waste of time. However, if a group is using for instance another group master and make a better job by doing a custom job (uncut print), add up subs, etc. then it's a different story and cannot really blame other groups from improving a previous release, anyway it's not like fan groups own distribution rights for anything.
The thin line is all about respect of each other's projects and efforts.
