Movies that should be in original language
Permalink

I've been recently working on a couple of non-bruce clone projects. Using the best widescreen print avaliable and dubbing some classic kung fu movies back into the original soundtracks that are only usually avaliable in English dubbed. These include Sleeping Fist, Ninja Hunter, and Kung Fu Emperor.

I was wondering what are the most wanted kung fu movies to be seen in there original language format?

Ninja Hunter - Widescreen

i prefer watching all films except shaws in their origonal languages and end up tracking down 3-5 different versions for different reasons. sub, dub, wide upgrades it never ends with me lol. but we started this team to honor our fallen comrade Andrew Jones and we plan to try to combine all the elements we have been collecting for all these years into ultimate fan versions. in 2010 many fan groups started up so we were waiting for the dust to settle to see what direction the trends are going with fans. and we have come up with some great projects. shelved some and brought some back. in 2011 we will be dropping discs left and right so i hope everyone is prepared for high quality output from friendly fans :)

back on topic i think ninja hunter is a great film to do in fact we had it down for this year.

i didn't know you liked ninja films :) dani also love ninja films very much.

remember i asked you before to combine forces on ninja in town?? its currently being translated are you still interested in that Bruce Li project?? your welcom aboard if you wish. i would love it if our groups/sites could work together to give the fans what they want! with the best quality and presentation. big rogie agreed to work on it with me as well. if all of us work together i bet this project will be great and the start of the next wave in Fan project trends. i was offline for the last year with connection issues now i'm back ready to rumble. are you guys still down?

I'm always willing to help out on any projects I can, whether it's Bruce Clone related or not. I'd love to be involved with the Ninja in Town one. I'm not really a huge Ninja fan but I did enjoy Ninja Hunter, mostly because I like Alexander Lo Rei.

A translator is something i really need to help with some of my own projects, because I have quite a lot of Mandarin versions of old kung fu movies but need someone to translate into subtitles.

@ kaleyboy, as for making them available, most likely will be willing to trade for other fan projects or rares.

So what's to happen with these projects. Who will be working on what, who has what task to finish? So far, there's no clear direction or leadership to appoint tasks. Like I said before, I'd be happy to help. Someone mentioned Ninja In Town and ninja Hunters, I'd be happy to do what I can. If Ninja In Town is being translated, maybe it'd be good to hand batches of episodes to different people to be timed. How many episodes in total? So far, I've been given very little information. cheers.

Maybe we should draw up a list of possible projects then vote. We need some direction and assigned roles if this is ever going to move forward.

as far as sleeping fist is concerned. someone brought it up and i offered origonal language track subbed copy. its not too clear i agree. maybe you can tackle this kaley if thats ok with you.

ninja hunter bruce clones already started doing work on it. if he needs a better print i have a wide origonal vhs i can offer. maybe bruce clones takes the lead on this one as he has put work in.

as far as ninja in town i give rogie a call because he was the one that origonaly agreed to combine forces. but as i'm sure you know he said he will be super busy over the next few week and expressed that it is also depending on translation from E forrest. perhaps you have better communication with EF than i do. but he lives about 30 mins from me. it is also more than i would say pretty ambitous and a huge commitment. i think there is people that want to see it. and its gonna take the most work. step 1 is the translation. that where we are at. if anyone wants to help with that be my guest.

i'm not about to go down the road of making list and all that . its very simple if you come up with a project we all try to lend a hand, that how we work.
therefore you may take the lead on one project and lend a hand in another. it keeps equilibrium within our group. and its worked for the last 10 years i know these guys. marko is new of course because he is young. but he has learned our ways fast as you will over time.
i can only speak for myself but i don't sell dvd-rs. if you want to i wouldn't object to it as long as the outcome is more projects. if you want to trade with your friends go ahead if the fu crew sells dvd-r thats not my business. i sell origonals and rarities thats my busines.  in the event there would be a cost that might come with a project for example translation. we would talk about it we are all reasonable people.

on the reason i am here. it may be different from the reason your here but your here and thats all that matters. because thats what the small thing  about andy was when he was here he didn't about who was who and i want to carry on that spirit he had when he faced so much. we all share this idea and keep in heart how andy might handle a situation and most times it works out.

everyone here has known each other for years so i don't think anyone is beyond reason.

The cost issue isn't important to me personally. If only I work on these projects (and not the whole fusubs team), I'm happy to do it totally free. However, where translation is concerned, that's a different thing. Translations can take a long time, and often involve a cost of some sort. But to give me a better idea, can you tell me how many episodes is contained in Ninja In Town and the run time for each episode? If worst case scenario, we have to pay for translation, maybe we could raise funds for it and send copies to everyone that helps us? Just my thoughts. As for Sleeping Fist, I'd be glad to help. I'll see which copies I already have, and you can maybe send me whatever I'm missing to make a full project.

That sounds cool HT. I'll pass all the info on to EF. I can't guarantee his involvement, as the dude works on what he chooses. However, like I said, I'm here and happy to help with timing once translations are done. Two or even three timers working on batches of episodes each, could get the series done quickly. I'd like to see this project come to completion. Sounds too good to let slide.

I've been in touch with the translator, EF, and it's bad news. He said 12 x 40 minute episodes in Cantonese represented too much work for him, and he wasn't prepared to commit to such a large project. Sorry. Guess the search for a translator continues.

I think the fact that it's Cantonese is a problem, he's not so strong with Canto. He mainly speaks mandarin, in three dialects, but not so great with Cantonese.

I just checked my copy of Sleeping Fist. It's nice quality Widescreen Eng dubbed version. So if hungrytiger could send me the Mandarin version, I can start to sync the Mandarin track. Hit me with a PM HT. Cheers.

the best print i've seen of Sleeping Fist is the German DVD, not sure if it's uncut or not tho.

Which is the best print to use for this project? I've got a AVI rip of the German DVD which is good quality but if someone has a DVD-R that they want to send or upload of the original disc then that will be better to sync up with my mandarin version.
